These quick tips might not help you save for a lot of your retirement, but it will help you have some extra cash that you can use where you see fit.
| 1. | Bundle your Cable or Telephone service together- Call your cable and telephone service and see what kind of bundles they have going. |
| 2. | Cancel your telephone service- If you feel comfortable with just your cell phone, you can go ahead and just cancel your telephone service. Beware, 911 won't be able to trace you as easily. |
| 3. | Call your home owners insurance provider- There's certain things you can do to reduce your bill. Your insurance representative will know more then I do. For example, installing an alarm or backup battery sub pump save certain percentages off your bill or eliminate part of the policy you have. |
| 4. | Shop around for high priced goods- Shop around for items that are high priced. You can always find a cheaper refurbished good that's just as good quality. When a company refurbishes an item, they make sure it's repaired. I've read that refurbished items are needed of repairs less then normal goods. |
| 5. | If you shop online- Don't purchase anything without a coupon. There's coupon sites dedicated to giving you a coupon, just look it up. Even if you find one that's free shipping, it's still a deal. |
| 6. | Credit Cards- I normally don't tell people to do this, but if you have a retail credit card (due to a lower rate). Put it on another card, but don't use that retail card unless you can afford to pay it off. |
| 7. | Checking Account/Savings Account- if you have a lot of money in either of these accounts look into opening a Certificate of Deposit, annuity or money market account. |
| 8. | Self Employed- If you're self employed, put your tax money into a certificate of deposit early for it to grow and do whatever the term is until your taxes. (i.e. maybe 3-9 months). |
