iPhone 3.0 Features: What We Were Hoping 2.0 Would Be and MORE!

As with everything in the tech world, as soon as you get the top of line, something better comes out. Get a VCR and DVDs come out. Move to DVDs and Blu-Ray catches on. Try the Sony MiniDisc, and Apple unveils the iPod. Splurge for 1080i then 1080p hits the market. It is inevitable. So here is what we expect the iPhone 3.0 to have (Sorry, you're going to have to eBay/Craigslist your iPhone 3G and upgrade again):

| | Speed Dial (create named and picture speed dials for your home page) |
| | Bluetooth everything (stereo, file transfer, etc.) |
| | Complete Outlook sync (tasks, calendars on exchange servers, notes, etc.) |
| | Document editing (word doc, excel spreadsheets, etc.) |
| | Connect to other iPhones (share stuff and play games mono-e-mono) |
| | Video Camera and 3.0 MP (at least) Camera and a Flash |
| | MMS (send pics and videos from your iPhone text messaging plan) |
| | Slingplayer (watch your TV and movies from your Slingbox at home) |
| | Radio (FM and AM radio receivers) |
| | Rotating Camera Lense (solves the front facing video camera conferencing problems) |
| | Java and Flash Support (watch videos (Hulu, IMDB-Amazon, Cartoon Network, ESPN, etc.) from websites via Safari) |
| | Removable Store (SD card support to expand memory -- meaning only one size/type of iPhone this time around) |
| | More Colors (red and blue and green iPhones, Oh, My!) |
| | Surround Sound (okay maybe not DTS 6.1 Surround Sound, but more and better speakers on all sides of iPhone) |
| | Removable/Replaceable Battery (even more powerful, longer-lasting upgrades available) |
| | Thinner |
| | More customisation options (customize homescreen, icons, etc.) |
| | More networks (allow Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile customers to use it) |
| | Shake to shuffle (innovative ways to change songs) |

Surely you will not have to replace the hardware to get all of these features like Cut/copy/paste... things that one would expect on any PDA ala Blackberry
Comment by: Tom the Bomb If you're an iPhone First Gen you won't get the MMS support but iPhone 3G users get the new OS for free, and iPod Touch users have to pay $9.99, most likely from the App Store
