Pest Control Tips: Roaches

These are some simple pest control tips to keep your home cockroach-free.
| | Keep the house clean and don't keep cardboard boxes lying around (they like to eat the glue). |
| | Kill any roaches as soon as you see it. |
| | Naptha (moth) balls also work against cockroaches as well as moths. |
| | Sprinkle insecticide crystals (used to be Dursban, but that is banned now) all around the foundation of your house every 3 months or so. |
| | A large jar greased on the inside with Crisco and baited with a small piece of bread smeared with peanut butter will catch them. every time. |
| | Make sure there's no food sitting out, ever. |
| | Make sure your trash is taken out every day |
| | Put a very wet towel across any doorway or window or other location where they might try to get in, then let the towel dry - it sticks into place. |
| | The safest way to kill roaches is to put small saucers filled with a little bit of boric acid and a little sugar and place them behind cabnets, etc. |
| | Roaches and other critters that crawl up your water pipes will stay away if you pour just a little bit of bleach down the drains every few weeks. |
| | Wipe down cabinets, shelves, and counters with peppermint oil |
| | Put cucumber peels in cabinets and corners to repel cockroaches. |
| | Put down a mix of baking soda and talcolm powder. |
| | Take a squirt bottle and fill half and half with HOT sauce and water. Cayenne hot sauce is best. Spray roaches and sources. |
| | Line all wall-to-floor connecting points with boric acid. |
