Recipe: Hawaiian Grilled Cheese

This is a Hawaiian take on the traditional grilled chesse sandwich, with ham and pineapple added to give it a tropical flavor.

	Ingredients
	3 tbsp butter or margarine, softened
	8 slices of bread
	4 slices of Swiss cheese
	8 thin slices of ham
	1 (8 oz) can of crushed pineapple, drained
	Directions
	Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat
	Spread butter onto one side of each slice of bread
	Place up to four slices of bread, butter-side down, in the skillet
	Top each slice of bread with one slice of cheese, two slices of ham and 2 tablespoons of crushed pineapple
	Place remaining slices on top with the butter side up
	When the bottom of the sandwich is golden brown, flip sandwiches and cook until brown on the other side (about 1 minute)
	Serve warm

Comments: I tried this recipe. it's good, get ready to double it.. be sure to use real butter and I prefer high fiber bread....and some crushed green chili peppers added to the pineapple Comment by: rick
