| | If you feel like you're going to blab, let the secret out in a safe way. Write it down in a notebook or journal, but be sure to keep this in a place where nobody will find it. |
| | Having a quiet conversation with your pet about it can also help. They can't talk. They just listen. It's comforting to know that someone living and breathing is listening to you. |
| | Sometimes it's necessary to tell a person, but be VERY careful in choosing who you confide in. Anyone has a possibility of spreading a secret. Anyone. The best way to keep information from spreading it to not let it out to spread in the first place. |
| | Choosing a confidant outside of a certain circle, will help. The person to whom you divulge your secret will not tell your other friends if the two have no connection in life, and are not ever going to have a reason to speak to each other. |
| | Warning - There are some situations where it's actually better to let the secret out in the open. Will keeping this secret harm yourself or an innocent person? Is the secret illegal, or covering up something against the law? Is keeping the secret dangerous? If you answered yes to either question, it's probably better to let it out. Think it over and use your better judgement. |
