Tags: John, McCain, 2008, Presidential, Election
Things are not good for Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain. Both his campaign manager and chief strategist have quit his campaign leading to speculation he may drop out of the race sooner rather than later. Here is list of the reasons why McCain's downfall is not surprising.
| | Image- Among moderate Republicans McCain is perceived as being to involved in the Washington scene and part of the problem and not the solution. Conservative Republicans have never fully trusted McCain due to his perception of weakness on important conservative issues.
|
| | Immigration- McCain's stance on Immigration has angered many conservatives who view McCain as very weak and very wrong on one of the most important issues for primary voters.
|
| | Romney- The emergence of Mitt Romney as a strong conservative in the race has allowed primary voters to see McCain as the most liberal of the top tier candidates. His subsequent attacks on Romney have proven this point. |
| | Been there, done that- With McCain, there is a certain sense of been there done that from his first presidential run in 2000. |
| | Fundraising- McCain has suffered in the fundraising race with his fellow Republican candidates. Whether it his due to his suffering image among conservatives or his less than stellar public speaking abilities, McCain's fundraising abilities have been lackluster at best. |

The invasion is an issue, as well as the move towards the Religious Right after years of saying they were bad for the Rep party. That kind of shift in attitude doesn't just impact the base, but Independents as well. Comment by: john Its the invasion stupid. While Jorge Boosh plots the dissolution of the USA with the Security and Prosperity Plan for North America, the precursor to the North American Union, Juan McCant wants to pander to the invaders.
