A quiet suburban town 25 miles due west of Chicago's Loop, Downers Grove has a lot of history and a lot of famous people who got out as soon as they could.

Denise Richards used to live on Middaugh Avenue on the north side of the tracks. Her family moved out to Hollywood so she could marry Charlie Sheen, um, I mean become an actress.

Randy "The Macho Man" Savage went to high school in Downers Grove. Oh, yeah! He and his brother would beat up anyone who said wrestling was fake.

Yearly a huge, international bike race is held in the downtown area.

Opera Star Sherrill Milnes lived in town for quite a while even taking part in community theater

Tony & Cammi Granato, hockey players learned how to play in Downers Grove. Tony went on to be in the NHL and Cammi went on to win a GOLD medal in the Olympics.

A very nice library that was selected as one of the top 10 for its size in the US.

The main street area was featured in a nationally distributed defensive driving course.

Named after some totally unexciting pioneer named Pierce Downer.
