How to Work with a Difficult Child

The following is a list of things you can do when handling a difficult child.
| | Evaluate the situation. Is the child upset about something imparticular? Did they get enough sleep the night before? Are they hungry? |
| | Try to distract the child with something other than what they are currently interested in. |
| | Change the environment the child is in. If they are inside, take them outside or vice versa. |
| | Give the child choices to give the illusion they are in control. Make sure they are choices you can live with. |
| | Try to change the situation with humor. Sometimes exaggerating the situation, making silly faces, or pretending to be silly can diffuse the situation. |
