Why Men Become Scrooges Around Christmas?
INFORMATIVE
Tags: Scrooge, Holidays, Christmas, Xmas, men, love, life, marriage, husband, hate, Grinch
Here are just a few of the reasons why men hate the Christmas season. Bah, Humbug!
| 1. | Shopping. It’s rare that you meet a guy who just adores shopping. It’s tolerable when you are buying for yourself but when you have to step to the dark side (read: pink and girly side) of the crowded stores, your eyes may start to glaze over! |
| 2. | Honey-Do List: From unwinding that big bundle of lights, to hauling in a tree from the truck, this time of year men are called upon to do a laundry list of things. When these things interrupt watching sports? Oh, not a happy camper! |
| 3. | Expectations: Let’s face it, some men feel pressure during the holidays: impress the family, be cordial to co-workers, devote quality time to the kids, and other obligatory social expectations that may exist (internal or external). Not to mention the challenge in buying the ideal gift. |
| 4. | Lights and Decorations: Standing outside in the freezing cold for hours cutting down a tree, decorating your lawn, and then shoveling snow is something you don't have to deal with in July. Not to mention going through the entire strand of thousands of lights to find that one bulb that has burnt out. |
| 5. | Religious Aspects: It's just another opportunity for Christian beliefs and traditions to be shoved down people's throats. Then you have to get all dressed up and go to church for hours and hours on Christmas Eve, midnight-mass, and Christmas Day. |
