| | Measure everything twice. But you measured carefully the first time? That's great. Measure again. |
| | Be extra-careful about your grain lines. A few degrees out can be the difference between a garment which fits like a glove, and one which fits like a sack. |
| | Use the right needle, and the right thread. Is it stretch? Use a ball-point needle. How much did you pay for that fabric? Don't skimp on the thread then. |
| | Are you using cotton? Then pre-wash it to shrink it (unless you don't plan to move your arms...) |
| | Does the pattern call for interfacing? Listen to them if it does. It'll give your garments a professional look. |
| | Pay attention to the details. Sew buttons on firmly, and snip off thread tails. |
