Fastest Times for Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race Winners

Although the first few times the race was run the winning teams took over 20 days to complete the race, over the years the teams have gotten faster (in part do to the addition of faster huskies to replace the original malamute dogs). Now, winning sleds cross the line in just over 9 days, and one team actually finished the 1,049 miles (1,853 km) race in under 9 days. These are the fastest times by winning mushers ever:
