Worst Books in Modern History
WORSTS
Tags: worst books, literature, reading
Some books are just painful to read, whether it's because of a horrible plot or a horrible writer. These books employ a little bit of both.
| | The Three Incestuous Sisters by Audrey Niffenegger - a graphic novel that a 3 year old could have illustrated if it were age appropriate |
| | 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne - roughly 20,000 pages about...water |
| | Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck - a mentally challenged man accidentally kills some people during the Depression...go figure |
| | The History of Love by Nicole Krauss - describes in painstaking detail every second of some old guy sitting in his apartment and pining over a lost love |
| | The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova - Kostova actually managed to make Dracula the most boring character ever written |
| | The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald - 250 pages about parties in the 1920s and an affair |
| | The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck - the first 50 pages literally describe dust |
| | The Known World by Edward P. Jones - quite honestly, I couldn't get past the second page |
