Black Teas For Breakfast And Beyond
BESTS
Tags: Tea, Assam, Coffee, Breakfast
Coffee may be the most popular breakfast drink in the US, but more and more people are discovering hot tea as an alternative. Any tea can be had in the morning, but typically breakfast teas tend to be strong black teas that take milk and sugar well (if you're so inclined). Assam and Kenyan teas are used most commonly in breakfast blends because of their strong tastes and tendency to take milk well. Although popular in the US for iced tea blends, Ceylon teas are not the most common choice when blending a morning cuppa.
| | The Simple Leaf - More Amor: The best tea I've found for replacing morning coffee, brisk but very smooth |
| | Harney and Sons - Irish Breakfast: A very balanced cup blending a few grades and types of Assam teas |
| | The Simple Leaf - American Breakfast: A wonderful Assam tea, very malty with burnt sugar notes |
| | Upton Tea - Scottish Breakfast: A great CTC Assam for the morning, quite malty |
| | Republic of Tea - Irish Breakfast: A good choice for mornings, I find it to be a little too subtle for some days |
