Best Things to Do in Tampa Bay on a Saturday Afternoon
BESTS
Tags: tampa, florida, shopping, saturday
So it's a Saturday and you're bored and home and don't want to do the usual movie or shopping thing. Here's some different ideas of what to do in the Tampa Bay area.
| | Busch Gardens or Adventure Island - Let me just get this out of the way before I get into the good stuff. This one is a given. |
| | Tarpon Springs - This cute little greek sponge diving village has unique shops (although they are a bit touristy) and great Greek restaurants. Fun to explore. |
| | Hyde Park - Cute shops, cafes, and art stores. Great to walk around on a sunny day. |
| | Oldsmar Flea Market - Only open on the weekends. It is an outdoor flea market, but most shops have air conditioning/fans. Make sure to stop by Sam's Books. The best selection of used children's books and adult books around! |
| | Honeymoon Island - This beach is a State Park as well. It costs a little bit of money to get in (I think 6 dollars or so), but it's not as populated as the overcrowded Clearwater Beaches. Make sure to bring your own chair and sandals (some parts are rocky). Very clear water and white sand. |
| | Weeki Wachee Springs - EXTREMELY corny, but worth at least one trip. One of Florida's original attractions and most of it hasn't been updated since then. Underwater singing/dancing mermaids that you can watch in a theatre. Also has a waterpark. |
| | Florida Aquarium - HUGE! Great place for families. Hands-on areas to pet the stingrays and other animals. Various shows and exhibits. |
| | MOSI - 3D movies, cool exhibits and very kid-friendly. Fun to explore. |
| | John's Pass - Cute little shopping area in Madeira Beach. Great seafood restaurants (I love Sculley's) since it's right on the water. You can see the dolphins jump as you eat! |
