This is a list of cool places to go when you're in Oregon. Pretty simple, huh?
| | Multnomah Falls -- the second largest year-round waterfall in the U.S.A. |
| | The Columbia River Highway -- also known as the King of Roads, I highly recommend a drive through the gorge to anyone coming to the area. |
| | Mt. Hood -- Oregon's Highest Peak is also home to a national forest that is very fun to explore. |
| | Trillium Lake -- Also on Mt. Hood, Trillium Lake is one of the most beautiful places in Oregon. |
| | John Day Fossil Beds National Monument -- In eastern oregon is a massive park, filled with one of the most complete fossil records from the cenozoic era (mammals and flowering plants). Sabre-tooth tigers and stuff. |
| | Eagle Cap Excursion Train -- is a train that travels through eastern oregon to some of the most dramatic Oregon landscapes. And is a lot of fun. |
| | High Desert Museum -- I have never actually been here, but I have heard it's a very cool place to visit. |
| | The Oregon Shakespeare Festival -- Happens in Ashland, Oregon and is a great way to spend some time. They've even won a Tony! |
| | Crater Lake -- Is another beautiful place in Oregon with so many activities that it would require its own list. |
| | Wildlife Safari -- in Winston, Oregon is a very cool drive-through park featuring over 500 animals from all of the continents on the planet, from giraffes who will stick their head in your car, to cheetahs and hippos, and everything else. |
| | McMinneville's Evergreen Aviation Museum -- Is a cool little museum dedicated to airplanes, and is the home of the Spruce Goose, the largest plane to ever take to the air. |
| | Enchanted Forest -- Is a twenty acre theme park featuring all kinds of rides for all ages. It's a lot of fun. |
| | The Coast -- I like Lincoln City, but Newport, Astoria, and Seaside are fun too. |
| | Fort Clatsop -- Unfortunately, the recreated fort commemorating the Lewis and Clark expedition's winter on the coast burned down in 2005, but there are still lots of trails, and a fort-to-sea hike that is neat. I still recommend it. |
| | The Oregon Coast Aquarium -- Is a very cool place to visit and see lots of underwater critters. |
| | OMSI -- The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, in Portland is a very cool place to visit, especially for kids. |
