I- 68 located in West Virginia and Maryland is a great east coast drive!
| | I drive them often and the mountain views are simply beautiful. In West Virginia you drive through such dense mountains with little evidence of civilization. |
| | Shortly before 68 turns into 70 you drive "through" a mountain. It is a place where the mountain was cut into, for the interstate, and it shows very well the geologic pattern of the areas mountains. |
| | It really is something to see for yourself. |
| | There is also a visitor’s center located on the spot with a 2-story museum that displays how they made the cut into the mountain and about the wildlife in the area. |
| | As you continue to travel east you connect with Interstate 70 and the land becomes flatter, with rolling hills and lots of farms. |
