Ways to Keep your Plants Healthy

Some suggestions on having healthy houseplants

	Make sure the amount of light is right for the plant. Most indoor plants prefer bright light, so a south window is probably good.
	Don't overwater. Too much water can cause root rot. Most plants only need to be watered when the soil has gone completely dry.
	Maintain humidity, especially in the winter, by keeping your plants together. You can also mist with a squirt bottle.
	Repot occasionally, making sure that the roots take up most of the pot. Potting in too much soil can lead to health problems for the plant.
	Use an appropriate amount of fertilizer. Read the instructions on the box and follow them. "Extra" fertilizer will not help the plant grow.
	Keep bugs away with neem oil or a gentle insecticide. Also, mist your plants frequently to help wash off the bugs.
	Keep pets away from your plants. Dogs and cats will often chew on leaves, and cats will sometimes use the soil as a litterbox.
