Yeast Infections - How do you get them

A yeast infection is a very unpleasant, and I mean very unpleasant condition that usually occurs in women.. It is said that about 3/4 of the women in the US have had a yeast infection at one time. Here is how they get them

1.	* Antibiotics (the leading cause of vaginal yeast infections)
2.	* Period (menstruation)
3.	* Contraceptives (birth control pills and condoms – nonoxynol-9 or a latex allergy)
4.	* Steroids (often found in antibiotics)
5.	* Pregnancy/Hormonal changes
6.	* Diabetes
7.	* Clothing that is too tight, non-cotton, dirty (traps heat and moisture)
8.	* Sexual transmission
9.	* Weakened immune system (due to HIV or Lyme disease)
10.	*People with weakened immune systems are also more susceptible to thrush, a yeast infection in the mouth with symptoms including white, creamy patches in the on the tongue, in the throat or mouth.
11.	* Allergic reactions to chemicals such as dyes, perfumes and inks.
