This is a list of things you can do while living or visiting Columbus, MS.
| | Visit the "Lock and Dam." It is off of Hwy 45, and offers picnic areas, basketball courts, and playgrounds. Many families come here to hold family reunions, while others come to fish or merely enjoy the scenery. Only one fishing pole is allowed per fisher, and no catfish are allowed to be gutted in the shack they offer. There is a marina, where you can dock your boat. The best thing of all is that it is free to get in! |
| | Visit Lake Lowdnes which is on the other side of town, near New Hope. There is a $2 entry fee and an additional fee for campers, boaters, and fishers, but some would say that the fees are well worth it. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. |
| | Visit Columbus Speedway. It is a dirt track and locals seem to greatly enjoy the excitement. Ticket prices are about $15 to get in. |
| | Eat breakfast at El Ranchos on Hwy 82. They have a great morning buffet for $8 a person. |
| | Visit the Princess Theatre on Main Street. Bands often play and Karoke Night is always a hit with the locals. Entry fees range from $0 to $15 depending on what is going on that night. |
