This is a short list of American TV characters who played an integral part in the show they were on, but were never actually seen. I didn't list people who were only mentioned a time or two, they had to have some relationship & influence in the other characters' lives.

Vera, Norm's wife on "Cheers". Never actually seen, but once she allegedly drove by Cheers in a car & people in the bar said they caught a glimpse of her.

Consuela, Suzanne Sugarbaker's unseen maid on "Designing Women".

Maris, who was Niles Crane's first wife on "Frasier", said to be as thin as a rail and filthy rich.

Charlie on "Charlie's Angels". He was just a voice ...

Bob Saccomanno, Kramer's friend on "Seinfeld". He retired to Florida even before Kramer did, and before that had the brilliant idea to sell nutria hats for $40 in New York. Nutria is a type of rat, and sheds like crazy.
