It's a nice day outside and your toddler is bored to tears. Here are some fun and interesting things to entertain your child.
| | Play hide and seek-A classic! |
| | Cloud Shapes-Lay down on a folding chair or spread out a blanket in the grass, look up at the sky and see where your imaginations take you. |
| | What Sounds Do You Hear?-Have your toddler close his/her eyes and concentrate on listening to all the sounds. Have him/her name off all the things he hears. |
| | Pick Flowers-What parent doesn't love a hand-picked bouquet of wildflowers from their little one? A good way to teach a child what colors/varieties of flowers there are. |
| | Chalk Drawing-Get some sidewalk chalk and go to town making hopscotch squares, shapes, letters and pictures with your child. |
| | Play Tag-Another classic with endless varieties; Frozen tag, TV tag, etc. |
| | Obstacle Course-Set up an obstacle course with your child's toys or things you find. Hula hoops, jump ropes, cones, etc. can all be used. Time yourself and your child to see how fast you can go. |
| | Winter Fun-If you live in an area where the snow falls, the possibilities are many! Build a snow fort, have a snowball fight, make a snowman or go sledding. |
| | Fall Fun-Rake a big pile of leaves and take turns jumping in them. |
| | Scavenger Hunt-Make a list of common things to search for. Something red, a certain shape; anything goes! See who can get to the end of the list first or work together to find things. |
