| | 1. Boda Restaurant, Los Angeles - This Vietnamese restaurant is one of my favorite restaurants in LA. I always dine on the BBQ Pork Sandwich and wash it down with Thai Ice Tea. I haven't tried anything else on the menu but those awesome sandwiches definitely make this restaurant one of my favorites. Boda Restaurant is very cheap, always crowded (good sign) and they only accept cash payments. |
| | 2. Roscoe's House of Chicken & Waffles, Los Angeles - Oh my goodness! This restaurant is very clean and low key in terms of decoration. The walls are white and the booths are beige. But the food! If you haven't tried the delectable combination of fried chicken with waffles, do it. And do it at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles in Los Angeles. |
| | 3. Meson Criollo, Van Nuys - I first got introduced to Columbian empanadas and chicharron (pork skins) by my boyfriend and I never looked back. This is another one of those tiny Los Angeles restaurants that only locals know about. It is usually crowded. I usually stop by to pick up a dozen empanadas and some chicharron to take home. It is a very nice place to dine in as well. |
| | 4. Makoto Sushi, Tarzana - This sushi bar is located on Ventura Blvd. It is very easy to pass by however its business has been booming for over 14 years. Chef Makoto, the owner and master sushi chef, serves up ridiculously delicious hand rolls, sushi and sashimi. This is not the place for cheap sushi but it is not too expensive either. |
| | 5. Kado Sushi at the Grove - Definitely an upscale sushi bar/ teppan lounge. This is a good place to relax and unwind in good company on a Friday night. The interior makes you forget you are at the Grove and even in LA. |
