| | Virginia Zoo- not so big that the kids get tired, but enough fun to keep them busy for a few hours. Located in Norfolk. |
| | Nauticus- actually in Norfolk, but not that far from Virginia Beach. Naval History museum, touch tanks of marine animals, and an actual tour of a working battleship! |
| | The Beach- Yes, the beach itself is a great place to take kids. Even in November, they'll have fun chasing the waves and kicking the sand! |
| | The Living Museum- In Newport News, this "museum" offers tons of FUN "learning" for the kids and their parents. See the animals working and playing in their natural, wild habitats. |
| | Colonial Williamsburg- Great fun of taking your family back to the original settlements of the United States. Located in Williamsburg. |
| | Busch Gardens- a little on the pricey side for a family of four, search for discounts and free tickets if you can. Military and up to 3 dependents get in free ONE TIME PER PARK per year, or at least they have for the past few years. The shows are phenomenal, and the rides are fun, too. You can't beat the food for an amusement park. Located in Williamsburg. |
| | Jungle Golf- Located in the tourist section of Virginia Beach, this little par-2 is loads of fun for the younger set. Playing with the large jungle animals makes wonderful memories. |
| | Motor World- Tourists seem to flock to this go cart and carnival-type amusement park for a reason. The kids enjoy riding on the rides. A little pricey, but if you're on vacation, or desperate for fun, it's worth it. Located in Virginia Beach. |
| | Water Country USA- owned by Busch Gardens/Anheuser Busch, this has to be one of the most awesome water parks around. Fun for almost all ages! Again, pricey, but search for discounted/free tickets (military gets free tickets for one busch theme park per year, up to 3 dependents plus active duty.) Located in Williamsburg. |
| | Ocean Breeze- Not nearly as fun as Water Country, but it is a good time that's not too far away. Located in Viginia Beach. |
