| | 1.BEWARE OF CAFFEINE,even coffee consumed early in the morning can interfere with sleep |
| | 2.LIMIT ALCOHOL BEFORE BED,while drinking a glass of wine with dinner is fine having a night cap before bedtime is not |
| | 3.TURN DOWN THE HEAT,a cool environment helps lower body temperature making you sleepy |
| | 4.get up,if you haven't fallen asleep after 15 minutes,get up of bed and do something quiet |
| | 5.REDUCE LIQUID INTAKE AT NIGHT |
| | 6.DARKEN YOUR ROOM |
| | 7BE CONSISTENT.STICK TO THE SAME SLEEP SCHEDULE SEVEN DAYS A WEEEK |
| | Melatonin half hour before bedtime |
| | Ambien works well for me.. The regular Ambien can be purchased as generic. The time reclease Ambien CR is not generic yet. Both require prescription.. Not much drowsiness but there are side effects.. like sleepwalking, eating in your sleep etc |
| | Lunesta.. - works well, not generic, some insurance companies only allow 10 or 15 pills per month.. some drowsiness in morning but if Ambien doesn't work for you - try it |
| | Mediation - Practice before bedtime.. See ITunes site for lots of free meditation podcasts |
| | Oils like Lavender, Bergamont, Chamomille mixed with some Essential Oil like Almond and put on your neck, feet and or pillow.. Calming |
