There have been many top 10 lists out there but this one is basically dedicated to the recent "gems" out that get pushed aside by the old games that populate every list.
| 1. | Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3) - Due to the frequent cutscenes, it's not so much a game as it is a movie to some people. Hideo Kojima also proves that the best way to close all the loose ends in a story is just to retcon everything that's happened. Thanks nanomachines and hypnotism! |
| 2. | Team Fortress 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) - Valve proves that when it comes to broken games that are overrated and loved by millions, they can't be beat. It's fuSpawn camping, overpowered classes, infrequent updates, and cheating that's rarely detected. Combine that with the fact that many of the classes are purely luck based and you have yourself a contender for one of the most broken games ever. |
| 3. | Crysis (PC) - First, it's racist. Second, the requirements to play it are incredibly high. Third, the plot goes goes from somewhat logical to just plain stupid when you start fighting things other than human being. There are so many other things I can say about this game like: The archaic gameplay, bad controls (especially when driving), horrible level design and the list goes on... |
| 4. | Guitar Hero 3 (Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, PC)- A horribly generic music game that killed the guitar hero series for everyone with it's unforgiving difficulty, radical gameplay changes. and it just happens to be filled with more product placement than a Nascar 20 car pileup. |
| 5. | S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl (PC)- People say that this game is made for the hardcore, but that's not true. You can make a "hardcore" game and still have it be playable. This horribly buggy game feels like it was rushed out of the door just so the developers could make a quick buck. Combine that with the bland A.I. and questionable subject matter and you have to wonder what they were really trying to prove here. |
