My Favorite Cronenberg Films

Cronenberg is one of my favorite directors of all time and these films are the reasons why.
| | Dead Ringers- A truly terrifying experience for any female, this film explores gynecology, the bond between twins, and the perils of addiction. It is also a showcase for Jeremy Irons stunning talent. |
| | Crash- This one starts James Spader and Holly Hunter, two of the most notable actors of their generation. Based on the book by JG Ballard, the movie explores the depths of psycho-sexual fetishism and pushes the boundaries of onscreen romance. |
| | The Fly- Watch this movie and just try not to fall in love with Seth Brundle. Jeff Goldbloom is in his quirky prime and carries the movie in spite of the often overwhelming prosthetics. Watching the charming and brilliant scientist devolve is both mesmerizing and devastating. The effects are also incredible. |
| | Videodrome- Blondie. James Woods. Sex. Violence. Television. I really shouldn't have to say anything more, but if that doesn't do it for you, then perhaps the still-relevant theme of media obsession will pull you in. |
| | Scanners- If you've ever wanted to see someones head explode from a massive telepathic attack then this is the movie for you. And to be honest, if you haven't ever wanted to see that, well, this really wasn't the list for you. |
