| | See a Movie - Regal Cinemas has recently opened a movie theater in the heart of downtown, it shows all the large box office movies |
| | Listen to Music - The Tennessee Theater has recently been redone and one can see many big names in this beautiful theater. In the summer, Sundown in the City on Market Square showcases some great talent as well. |
| | Shop - Market Square is home to some great shops: Bliss, Bliss Home, Earth to the Old City, Reruns, Abode, and Village Marketplace. The Mast General Store is located on Gay Street. |
| | Go to an Art Museum - The University of Tennessee has their own Exhibition Space on Gay Street and the Knoxville Museum of Art is located on Worlds Fair Park Drive towards campus. |
| | Take a walk - The entire downtown area is walkable, with large sidewalks, great buildings and greenspaces. It is a small area, so one can walk it in an hour or two. |
