| | 3. John Romita- Though he did not create Spider-man it was his run on the series that catapulted the web-head to stardom. |
| | 4. John Byrne- Byrne's tight, realistic style would set the tone for The X-Men in the '70's and make them the highest selling comic in the world. |
| | 5. Jim Lee- Similar to Byrne but far more gritty and violent in his graphic approach. He would continue the legacy of Marvel's best artists working on X-men and bring the company into the 21st century ten years before 2000 AD. |
