With everything happening as it is today, everybody needs to pull back a little bit and save some money.
| 1. | You do not have to eat out four or five times a week. If you cut that time down to only once or twice a week, this could save a substantial amount of money. This includes those quick trips through fast food drive-thrus. | | 2. | If you are going to eat out, try lunch time instead of dinners. Lunches are served in smaller portions but at the fraction of the cost that dinners are. | | 3. | If you want to eat out, try to find a place that has specials running. 2 for 1 meals are always a plus and can be found at many family restaurants. | | 4. | While grocery shopping, you could save a lot by buying off brands. Yes, there are some things that if you like a certain brand because of the quality that you swear that you will never buy the cheap stuff. This usually goes for drinks, and I do not blame you. But, do you really need gourmet noodles? | | 5. | Buying brand name clothing... Is this really necessary? I mean, don't just automatically go for the cheap stuff. If you buy the cheapest brands out there, they usually fall apart after only a couple times wearing them. Find a brand that makes decent clothing but does not fall apart that is cheaper than expensive name brands. | | 6. | Do you really need another pair of shoes? (Yes, this pertains to you guys out there, too) How many pairs of shoes do you have? Are they in dire need of being thrown away? If not, now may not be the time of buying -another- pair. | | 7. | Instead of pay 20+ dollars at a movie theatre for just two people, why not rent a movie instead? Besides, you can be much more cuddlier at home than in a movie theatre surrounded by strangers. Not to mention munchie foods at home are way less expensive. | | 8. | So you want to go to that big sports game. You can easily spend one hundred dollars at a major sports arena. That money can be better used towards things for your house, food, or something for your little ones. Stay home, have some buddies over, and watch it on t.v. This is another instance where home food is probably better for you anyways. | | 9. | If you do want to get out of the house and do something fun, how about something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? You could always go biking, hiking, fishing, or just take a walk in the park. | | 10. | Last, but not least, put that spare money you have into a savings account that you cant withdraw unless you go to the bank in person. Trust me, this is a great one. Especially if you want to spend money in the middle of the night or go on some random spending spree. Who wants to go to a bank now-a-days anyways? |
