Corn, Potatoes and Carrots: Vegetables With a High Sugar Content
IDKT
Tags: Vegetables, Health, Sugar, Corn, Yams, Potatoes, Beets, Carrots
I was reading an article the other day and it listed out a number of vegetables that have a very high sugar content. I was surprised by this list as I don't think of a lot of these vegetables being sweet (I know, that isn't what they were talking about) but I thought I would share the list:
| | Acorn Squash - which I always make sweeter with brown sugar when I cook it |
| | Artichoke |
| | Baked Beans |
| | Beets |
| | Brussel Sprouts |
| | Butternut Squash - again, add the brown sugar |
| | Carrots |
| | Corn - I knew this one |
| | Leeks |
| | Parsnips |
| | Peas - I knew this one too |
| | Potatoes |
| | Rutabaga |
| | White Rice |
| | Yams - This one I thought was a given...don't marshmellows come attached to these?! |
