How to Get Bees out of Your Classroom
HOW TO
Tags: Bumble Bees, Bees, Garden Pests, Bee Stings
If you are trying to teach and a bee (or wasp) flies in, you will have difficulty keeping the students' attention. If you've had this happen, you'll know that in most cases, maintaining order is nearly impossible. Students won't listen or learn until the bee is gone.
To remove a single bee or wasp from a room:
| 1. | Trap the insect under a cup against a hard flat surface. |
| 2. | Once the pest is trapped, slip an index card (or piece of card-stock) under the mouth of the cup. |
| 3. | You can now transport the the bee or wasp outdoors (be sure to keep the mouth of the cup covered). If you'd like to keep the insect, place the entire cup and card into a freezer. |
