Pest Control Tips: Squirrels
HOW TO
Tags: Pest, Control, Tips, Help, House, Yard, Garden, Home, Squirrells, Animals
These are some simple pest control tips to keep your home and garden squirrel-free.
| | Squirrels do not like the smell of moth balls. Simply place mothballs in stragetic locations around the outer area of your home, and that will keep them away. |
| | Squirrels don't like safflower seed but birds do. |
| | Squirrels dislike cayenne pepper. |
| | Keep them out of my chimmney by putting a wire chimmney cap on top of the chimmney |
| | Buy a live trap and use salted peanuts as bait. Once caught, take a nice drive and release at least 10 miles away, preferablly across a natural boundary like a major higway, river, etc. |
| | For birdfeeders, smear the pole with vaseline so they can't climb up it, or mix in cayenne pepper with the birdseed - birds can't taste it but squirrels hate it. |
| | To keep squirrels off bird feeder, use cake of suet to coat feeder's roof and hanger. |
| | Give them a place to feed far away from the house |
| | Put some cobs of corn on a wooden stake in the ground near the base of a tree. As long as food is so easy to get to, they leave the birdfeeders alone. |
| | Put hot sauce around the garbage bins. |
