These are some simple pest control tips to help keep your home and yard free of skunks and raccoons.

Raccoons dislike cayenne pepper.

To dislodge raccoons, an ammonia soaked rag works well.

Keep them out of your chimney by putting a wire chimney cap on top of the chimmney

Create a compost pile at least 100 feet away from your house

Use a wild animal trap which is a cage with a trip plate inside of it with food on it.

Spread lime around the area to keep skunks away.

If a raccoon sets up housekeeping in your attic or chimney, chemical repellants -- such as oil of mustard -- are temporarily effective.

Hot sauce around the garbage bins.
