Pest Control Tips: Fruit Flies in Your Kitchen
HOW TO
Tags: Pest, Control, Tips, Help, House, Yard, Garden, Home, Fruit, Flies, Insects, Bugs
This is a simple and effective pest control tip for ridding your kitchen of pesky little fruit flies.
| | Put a chunk of banana in the bottom of a glass jar. |
| | Create a paper funnel by rolling a standard piece of paper and taping it into the shape of a funnel with a very small hole at the bottom, and the top considerably wider than the mouth of the jar. |
| | Set the funnel in the mouth of the jar, pointy side down. |
| | Set this contraption wherever you have seen fruit flies. |
| | They are attracted to the banana smell. The flies will go down the funnel, and can't get out again. |
| | Check the jar frequently, and whenever you see captured flies, release them out of doors, where they will die shortly. |
| | Don't pull the funnel out while still indoors or they will get right back into your kitchen. |
| | Change the banana piece frequently, as they will lay their eggs on it. |
