HOW TO
Tags: Fox Trot, Slow Dance, Ballroom Dance, Dance
Nothing is more romantic than a slow dance, so guys impress your ladies by learning how to slow dance with the fox trot.
| 1. | Step left then right in time with the music. Sway like a pendulum by putting your weight fully on your left foot then fully on your right foot. Move your right foot back 2 inches then your left foot forward 2 inches, in a clockwise direction. |
| 2. | Place your weight on the ball of your left foot on count one. Let your weight ease to the heel on count two. Sway to the right putting your weight on the ball of your right food on count three. Then let your weight settle on the heel of your right foot on count four. As your weight settles on your left foot, allow your hips to turn and your left hip to shift to a position over your left leg. |
| 3. | Move your hips in a turning motion toward settling over the right leg as your weight moves toward the right foot. Advanced slow dancing requires a different count. One, Two and, Three, Four and, One, Two and, Three, Four and. |
| 4. | Count within 4 beats of the music, so the “and” is said quickly after the two and the four. Notice where I have place the commas in the count – One – Twoand –Three – Fourand. This hip motion is what dancers call “latin motion.” |
