Dog Pack Mentality: Successfully Owning More Than One Dog
INFORMATIVE
Tags: pack mentality, dogs, health, ownership
If you have more than one dog, it is important to respect the mentality of the pack and the leadership of the alpha dog. Here's how to successfully own a pack of dogs. Have any tips?
| | Feed the alpha dog away from the other dogs |
| | Never call a subordinate dog forward for a treat while the alpha dog is present |
| | Introduce new dogs to the group slowly and watch their interactions |
| | Neuter and spay dogs ASAP to minimize aggressive and dominant behavior |
| | Never house two or more intact males or two or more intact females together when trying to breed |
| | Try to pair together an aggressive neutered male or spayed female together with a less aggressive dog. |
| | Avoid pairing a large and small dog together. |
