How to Deal With a Guy if Something Weird Happened Between You
HOW TO
Tags: Dating, Dealing with others
So you walk into work and there he is, someone you have a lot of history with. What do you do now? Here is how you can deal with a guy if something weird happened between you.
| 1. | Remember that he notices you too, even if you guys are trying to avoid each other. No matter how well he hides it, he does remember you and whatever happened. |
| 2. | Try making eye contact for starters. Give him a quick glance or an understanding stare, even if it is uncomfortable. Whatever you do, make sure your eyes do meet. |
| 3. | Talk to him. Chances are he will be at his locker at the end of the school day, and there are tons of people around him, so it should not be as awkward to say something. You might want to say hey to him and another person next to him so that he doesn't think you are scared. |
| 4. | Read him for signs. It is easy to tell if he is feeling the same way as you. Try observing him when you walk by. If he is hesitant to make eye contact or looks especially calm and has a slight smile on his face, he is probably trying to look "normal" for you. Notice if he glances at you with a "what is she doing?" look, as if he is trying to see if you're looking at him. |
| 5. | Always smile around him. This makes it just plain look less awkward. |
| 6. | Give him confidence. Reply when he says hey. If you don't, he might feel you just forgot about him and don't care, and he might stop making contact. That doesn't help if you are trying to rebuild "normality." |
| 7. | Go slowly, and do something new each day. Act like you're friends. Don't avoid him. Just subtly let him know you want to be "cool" again. |
| 8. | Give him long stares at a distance. If you are walking in from recess, look at him over the heads of a crowd of people, maybe he will look back. This makes it less personal per say, and you can easily slip away if something is wrong. It also lets him know you acknowledge him more than other people. (As if you're not just looking "into the crowd" but especially at him.) |
