How to Grow Closer to Each Other
HOW TO
Tags: Get Closer to your significant other, dating, relationships
Growing closer can only make your relationship better. Here is how you can grow closer to each other.
| 1. | Show affection. touch, hold hands, link arms, kiss, snuggle, cuddle, sit close, sit on each other's lap, rest your head on his shoulder, wrap your arms around each other or even around each other's waists, etc. Just be physically close and comfortable with each other. (However, it is important to ask if it's alright with the other person first.) | | 2. | Talk to each other. About your feelings, viewpoints, your social life, work life, family life, ideas, hopes, dreams, insecurities, fears, goals, ambitions, wants, needs, desires, fantasies, your past/childhood, etc. This includes the big as well as the small things. Talk about anything and everything with each other. | | 3. | Share things with each other (clothes, food, drinks, feelings, emotions, etc). For instance, wear your boyfriend's sweatshirt/jacket if you're cold (forget yours one day on purpose and ask him if you can wear his), whenever you have food or drinks together, share. Say you have some ice-cream, have 1 bowl but 2 spoons, or soda; have 1 glass but 2 straws, share off of 1 plate if you're having a meal together. (Ask first before you go and take a bite out of their food or sip of their drink). Share with one another what you're feeling, and don't be afraid to show any emotion with each other. Share blankets, big/baggy/long shirts, phones, etc. Remember the saying: "What's mine is yours and what's yours is mine". So share with one another - everything and anything! | | 4. | Do things for each other. For example, if your boyfriend or girlfriend wants a soda, offer to go and get one for them so they don't have to get it. Listen to them when they talk to you; be open with one another; be attentive and romantic. Surprise each other every once in a while with something you know or at least think they might like or want. | | 5. | More ideas. If you're at the movies - rest your head on your boyfriend's shoulder and share some popcorn or soda. (Ask first if it's alright). Or at a restaurant - sit on the same side of the booth and feed each other. Or if you're at home and watching a movie - snuggle and cuddle (maybe even hold hands) with each other). | | 6. | Be there for the other person at the end of a bad day with some hugs, kisses, comfort, and listening skills. Really listen to him or her, and if he/she really doesn't want to talk to you about it, just leave it alone - leave them be and don't push it. Just wait until they come to you. (This applies to talking about anything also, especially feelings and emotions,). Offer them a massage of some sort. |
