How to Put SNES, NES, Sega, and Other Classic Games on Your Sony PSP
HOW TO
Tags: Emulators, PSP, Classic Games, SNES, NES, Sega
One of the best things about the Sony PSP is how easily you can use an emulator to play classic games. Be sure that you have version 1.0 or 1.5 otherwise you will not be able to do this. If you have already upgraded to a higher version you can downgrade at www.psp-hacks.com
| 1. | Connect your PSP to your PC with a USB cable compatible with the PSP. Go to Settings --> USB Connection. Now you should have a removable disk drive added on to your My Computer window. |
| 2. | Go online and find a Emulator for PSP (Google it). Each game system (SNES, NES, SEGA, etc.) has its own emulator. Download file to Desktop . If you want to be safe on your finds, go to a trusted website. |
| 3. | Download the SEI PSP Tool (Again, Google it) to Desktop and extract to Desktop. |
| 4. | Open SEI PSP Tool folder --> SEI PSP Tool. You basically have 3 or 4 things to do here. |
| 5. | In the "Name" box type the name of the system emulator. In the "PHP" box, select the [...] box and find the EBOOT.php file you extracted from Step 2 (The folder should be on Desktop if you extracted to there). In the "drive" box select the drive the PSP is connected to (by default it should already be selected). Now *check* the box that says "Hide Corrupt Data Icon". Now click "Generate". |
| 6. | By this point the SEI Tool should have created a "GAME" folder and in the "GAME" folder should be *two* folders. The "emulatorname" and "emulatorname%" (Note: emulatorname is what you put in the "Name" box in SEI Tool). |
| 7. | Look for game ROMS |
| 8. | Download and extract ROMS to desktop. (After extraction put ROMS into any folder for easy access and later use). |
| 9. | Transfer ROMS to "emulatorname" folder (in step 6), not "emulatorname%" folder. |
| 10. | Select the "Back" button on PSP. Go to Game --> Memory Stick --> "Emulatorname" |
| 11. | Enjoy nostalgic fun!! |
