The CDC (Center for Disease Control) regularly does a risk assessment survey of the large metro areas and below is the findings for the 2004 Allentown, Bethlehem-Easton, PA/NJ MMSA compared to Pennsylvania and the overall US:

	A higher percentage of adults reporting overall health as fair or poor
	A lower percentage of adults reporting doing no leisure time exercise or physical activity in the last 30 days
	A higher percentage of adults told by doctors that they have diabetes
	The number of adults aged 65 or older reporting not having a flu shot within the last 12 months was not reported.
	A lower percentage of adults reporting having smoked at least 100 cigarettes in their lifetime and currently smoke
	A higher percentage of adults reporting having five or more drinks on occasion, one or more time in the past month
	A higher percentage of adults reporting Body Mass Index greater than or equal to 30.0
