Called acne vulgaris, this skin disease can vary from quite mild to extremely severe. Acne usually develops when the sebaceous glands and the lining of the hair follicle begin to work overtime. When the follicle is overworked and clogged, cells and sebum accumulate, forming a plug.

	Pimples, commonly called zits, typically on the face and upper torso.
	Pustules, small elevated pus containing lesion of the skin
	Whiteheads, are plugs that stay below the surface of the skin
	Blackheads, are plugs that enlarge, pop out and has a dark top
	Cysts
