Your credit score can have a large effect on some of the major purchases you make such as a home or a car. Below are some ways to improve your credit score.

1.	Maintain a small number of revolving accounts and pay off the balance each month.
2.	Do not apply for credit indiscriminately.
3.	On the off chance that you do make a late loan or mortgage payment ask the lender for forgiveness.
4.	Get a new credit card and do not use it.
5.	If you have a credit card balance make larger payments than the minimum.
6.	One of the most damaging aspects of credit card debt is owing more than the limit on the particular card. Pay this off first.
7.	Do not let companies do unnecessary inquiries on your accounts.
8.	If you are getting a divorce be sure and contact creditors to change joint accounts back into your name.
9.	Never max out a credit card.
10.	Never close out lines of credit that you use responsibly.
