Cyber crime is a new problem that has begun to emerge with the expansion of the internet. There are many things which you can do to prevent it but what about if it has already happened. The FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center have partnered together to create The Internet Crime complaint Center(IC3). Below is what you need to do to report internet crime.
| | IC3 accepts complaints from individuals who feel that they have been victims of internet crime and from a third party to the complaint. | | | You can file a complaint on their website, http://www.ic3.gov/ | | | When giving your report be sure and be as complete as possible. | | | They require you to give the following information: your name, your mailing address, your telephone number, the name, address, telephone number, and Web address, if available, of the individual or organization you believe defrauded you, specific details on how, why, and when you believe you were defrauded, and any other relevant information you believe is necessary to support your complaint. | | | Remember, that IC3 also provides useful information on common internet crimes and also ways to prevent internet crime so be sure and check that out. |
