The PlayStation 3 is Sony Computer Entertainment's third video game console. It is the successor to the PlayStation 2. The PlayStation 3 competes with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Nintendo's Wii as part of the seventh generation of video game consoles.

	The price: $500 base PS3 model.
	No must-have exclusive games: the game selection is rather limited, and Sony hasn't produced any PS3-exclusive titles.
	System updates are a hassle: downloading a system update directly to your PS3 is a slow process, and it's annoying that you have to plug your controller back into the console in order to update your system.
	The Web browser needs work: the biggest infraction is that you can't surf with just a keyboard and mouse; you always have to have your controller nearby.
	The Web browser needs more work: there's no pop-up blocker, and the browser treats pop-ups as separate Web pages.
	The Web browser needs more work: Flash support is sketchy so playback of YouTube or CNET TV videos may work, but the video can be choppy and unwatchable.
	PS3 downscales 720p on TVs that don't support the resolution: if you have an older HDTV that's supported only 1080i resolution for HD, the game that is supposed to be displayed in its full high-definition glory is actually being displayed in DVD-level enhanced definition.
	No DVD upscaling: the PS3 is a Blu-ray/DVD player with HDMI connectivity but doesn't upscale DVD movies to 720p or 1080i.
	No IR support: Sony left IR (infrared) off the PS3. The lack of a little IR sensor on the console's front end means you can't control the PS3 with a universal remote.
	Anemic PlayStation Store: Sony is nowhere near where it should be in terms of downloadable content, and its PlayStation Store is a joke compared to Microsoft's Xbox Live and Apple's iTunes Store. Navigating the online storefront is a chore as you attempt to center the cursor on a desired icon or button and select it with the X button.
	HDD not for savegames. Mr. Kutaragi has said that the add-on HDD for the PS3 would be used for media storage and the like. Not for savegames. That?s retarded.
	No built-in HDD in every PS3. One of the greatest things about the Xbox was that developers could count on the existence of an HDD. This is no longer the case, and the Xbox 360 has lost one of the major advantages that the original had. Sony had a chance to take over that advantage, but it seems they?re not taking it. There?s always a chance Sony will change their mind, but right now it doesn?t look like it.
	No triggers on controller. One of the great things about playing racing games at my friend?s place is that his Xbox controllers have triggers. We don?t have them on the PS3 (AFAIK). I want them!
