Keeping Your Kids Healthy

Staying healthy is a lifetime commitment which often starts when we are young. With the growing problem of childhood obesity it is important for us to start with our kids early so they understand the importance of being healthy. Here are some tips form Men's Health
| | Focus on the first graders - Fat kids often stay fat so try and schedule vigorous play throughout the early grades. |
| | Lift Their Spirits - Weight lifting burns calories, changes bodies, and builds confidence, make strength training available. |
| | Find the Expert Outside and Inside the school - Experts are nearby, recruit them, students will listen. |
| | Turn the gym into a health club - Kids like variety, meet with administrators, teachers, and students to organize a fitness club at your high school. |
| | Outsource at least one class - The private sector can help, survey your schools, gauge demand, and let free enterprise take over. |
| | Call a parent-teacher conference - Schools won't change without a push from parents, get involved. |
| | Lose 10 Pounds - You example counts so drop a few. |
