My Life as a Economics / Visual Arts Student
Do's/Don'ts

Being an Econ. and Art Major, I have come to trust my skills. That said I started my own graphic design business. Here is a list of 5 tips to starting your own graphic design business.
| | 1. Don't be afraid to turn down a client. - Some guys are wack jobs, or say they can get it somewhere else cheaper.... let them. If their nephew can do it for 50$ than let him do it that way. He will just end up with a crappy website and you will have saved your time. |
| | 2. Don't offer any proofs or drawing before hand so he can consider you out of a few designers. He will just steal your work. |
| | 3. Factor in modification costs. Or offer a modifcation cost wage. Such as 15$ an hour for edits. You do not want to get caught re-editing your work constantly. Be firm. |
| | 4. Maintain your artist integrity. You don't want to be a slave. The right to artist discretion is important. Keep a balance between providing what they want and what works. |
| | 5. When starting out , make a few demo websites so you ahve a portfolio to show your talents. |
