Everything is bigger when you're a celebrity, including the millions your spouse could get away with in a divorce settlement. Forbes takes a look at the ten most expensive divorces in Hollywood history.
| 1. | Michael & Juanita Jordan: Settlement pending: Possibly more than $150 million. She was with him when he accrued the peak of his earning potential, which means she could walk away with half of his fortunes. If this occurs, it would be the most expensive divorce in entertainment history. |
| 2. | Neil Diamond & Marcia Murphey: Estimated settlement: $150 million. They divorced in 1994 after 25 years of marriage. "She's worth every penny," he later said. |
| 3. | Steven Spielberg & Amy Irving: Estimated settlement: $100 million. After 4 short year of marriage, she was awarded $100 million, half of his net worth at the time. Today he is worth $3 million. |
| 4. | Harrison Ford & Melissa Mathison: Estimated settlement: $85 million. After 21 years of marriage, she received a handsome settlement and also recieves a portion of the DVD sales of the "Indiana Jones" Trilogy and "The Fugitive". |
| 5. | Kevin Costner & Cindy Silva: Estimated settlement: $80 million. When their marriage ended after 16 years, she was awarded a substantial piece of his net worth as a result of being with him during his peak earning years. |
| 6. | Paul McCartney & Heather Mills: Settlement pending: Possibly more than $60 million. They were only married a few short years, and Heather Mills reportedly denied Paul's offer to sign a prenup. She stands to recieve $60 million, which may sound hefty, although he is worth over $700 million. |
| 7. | James Cameron & Linda Hamilton. Estimated settlement: $50 million. After only 18 months of marriage, during which they had a child together, she was awarded $50 million, which is exactly half of what Cameron earned from "Titanic". |
| 8. | Michael & Diandra Douglas: Estimated settlement: $45 million. After over 10 years of marriage, she recieved roughly half of his net worth, as well as homes in Beverly Hills and Majorca. |
| 9. | Lionel & Diane Richie: Estimated settlement: $20 million. When their 8 year marriage ended, they became tabloid fodder when she leaked the details of her alimony petition: a monthly clothing allowance of $15,000; $50,000 a month for manicures, massages and other personal services; and a plastic surgery budget of $20,000 a year. |
| 10. | Mick Jagger & Jerry Hall: Estimated settlement: $15 to $25 million. They were together for 25 years, married for 9. They shared two kids together. The marriage ended when she learned he had fathered another woman's child. You'd think she stands to get at least half of his estimated $325 million, right? Wrong. He successfully challenged the legality of their Balinese wedding and had the marriage annulled, leaving her with only 20% of his fortune. Still, $15 million is nothing to snub your nose at. Also, her career as a supermodel isn't exactly chump change. |
