Mike Myers says: "The third one honours the first and second ones... he has this one more rite of passage to go before he can fully be responsible for another human being.'' Shrek has evolved over the three self-titled movies. Here is how he has changed in each film, according to the voice of Shrek, Mike Myers.

1.	Do Unto Others - "In the first one, Shrek had to learn to love himself in order to be loved," explains Mike Myers.
2.	Shrek: The Family Man - "In the second one, he had to learn to love himself in order to marry and start his own family."
3.	King Me - "In this third one, Shrek has to learn to love himself enough to believe that an ogre could possibly be a father or the king of a country."
