I heard that in America we spend 80% of lifetime health costs in the last year of life. That means big hospitals sticking tubes and expensive drugs in your body just to keep you going another 12 months. It should be the other way around - the 80% upfront. American's think they can cheat death, that's part of the problem.

Whoa! What the F?! US is 37th? I hate to agree with Michael Moore but...

If success of health care is measured on bottom line profits than the US wins hands down. I think insurance and pharmacutical companies in the US make millons off unhealthy and healty citizens. I still think we have the best doctors and specialty clinics in the world. I keep hearing how bad Canada is with socialized medicine butthey are not as bad as the US in terms of ranking and must be doing something right.
