Tags: White, Stripes, Myths, Rock, Roll, Mama Cass, Michael Jackson, Ozzy, Phil Collins
We've all heard the stories before about Jack White and Meg White being brother and sister, the death of Mama Cass and Micheal Jackson trying to buy the elephant man. Here is a list debunking these popular rock'n'roll myths and others.
| 1. | Jack White and Meg White are brother and sister- No, in fact Jack White and Meg White were once married with Jack taking Meg's last name. Not sure how this one got started, Meg's parents perhaps? ;-) |
| 2. | Mama Cass died choking on a ham sandwich- Actually, the autoposy showed that while lying in bed her heart choked on a clot. The ham sandwich was on the side. |
| 3. | Micheal Jackson tried to buy the remains of the elephant man- It's believed now that he made an offer, but the remains were never up for sale. |
| 4. | "You Oughta Know" is about Dave Coulier- It's said that a young Alanis Morissette had a relationship with Coulier while he was in his early years starring on Full House. Morissette has never confirmed the rumor and the show was cancelled anyway. |
| 5. | "In The Air Tonight" is about a murder that Phil Collins witnessed- Even Slim Shady believed this myth. The truth is that the song is actually about the demise of his first marriage, which he did witness... |
| 6. | Ozzy Ozbourne bit the head off a bat- This is myth is somewhat true. Ozzy thought the bat thrown on stage was rubber. A shocked Osbourne went to the hospital for a tetanus shot. I wonder, i did it taste like chicken? |
